Unit History

The 90th Field Artillery Battalion was constituted on 1 October 1933 in the Regular Army as the 90th Field Artillery. It was activated on 1 June 1941 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. During World War II, the battalion served in the European Theater, participating in campaigns including Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe. After the war, the unit was inactivated on 20 November 1945 at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey. The battalion was later redesignated and reactivated as part of the Army’s postwar restructuring.
