The 33rd Tank Company was a unit of the United States Army organized as part of the National Guard. It was federally recognized on 3 June 1921 at Salinas, California. The company was an element of the 40th Division and was equipped with tanks for training and operational purposes during the interwar period. The 33rd Tank Company was inducted into federal service on 3 March 1941 as part of the mobilization for World War II. Upon federal activation, the unit was redesignated and its personnel were absorbed into other armored units as the Army reorganized its armored forces for wartime operations.
