Unit History
The 29th Tank Battalion was constituted on 28 August 1942 in the Army of the United States and activated on 1 September 1942 at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas. The battalion was assigned to the 11th Armored Division and participated in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. The 29th Tank Battalion took part in several key campaigns, including the Ardennes-Alsace, Rhineland, and Central Europe operations. Following the end of hostilities, the battalion was inactivated on 31 August 1945 at Camp Patrick Henry, Virginia.
