Unit History
The 118th Medical Battalion was constituted on 25 February 1943 in the Army of the United States and activated on 15 March 1943 at Camp Barkeley, Texas. The battalion provided medical support and services during World War II, participating in several campaigns in the European Theater. Following the end of the war, the unit was inactivated on 25 October 1945 at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey. Over the years, the 118th Medical Battalion has undergone several reorganizations and redesignations, continuing its mission to provide medical support to Army operations.
