7 Medical Battalion 1940–1947 (World War II) The 7th Medical Battalion was constituted on 1 October 1940 in the Regular Army and assigned to the 7th Infantry Division. Activated at Camp Ord, California, the battalion provided medical support to the division throughout World War II. It participated in major campaigns in the Pacific Theater, including the Aleutian Islands, Eastern Mandates, Leyte, Ryukyus, and Southern Philippines. The battalion was inactivated on 20 January 1946 in Korea following the end of hostilities.
