Unit History
The 1st Medical Battalion was constituted on 23 March 1925 in the Regular Army as the 1st Medical Squadron and was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division. It was activated on 1 August 1927 at Fort Bliss, Texas. The unit was reorganized and redesignated as the 1st Medical Battalion on 15 March 1949.
