393rd Field Artillery Battalion 1940–1947 (World War II) The 393rd Field Artillery Battalion was constituted on 23 November 1944 in the Army of the United States and activated on 1 December 1944 at Camp Swift, Texas. The battalion was assigned to the 100th Infantry Division and served in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. It participated in campaigns including Rhineland and Central Europe. Following the end of hostilities, the battalion was inactivated on 26 January 1946 at Camp Patrick Henry, Virginia.
