Unit History

The 393rd Field Artillery Battalion was constituted on 23 February 1943 in the Army of the United States and activated on 25 March 1943 at Camp Phillips, Kansas. The battalion served during World War II, participating in campaigns in the European Theater, including Rhineland and Central Europe. Following the end of the war, the 393rd Field Artillery Battalion was inactivated on 27 January 1946 at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey.
