152nd Field Artillery Regiment 1914–1921 (World War I) The 152nd Field Artillery Regiment was organized in 1917 as part of the Maine National Guard and assigned to the 43rd Division. During World War I, the regiment was federalized and deployed to France, where it served as an artillery unit supporting American and Allied operations. The regiment participated in several campaigns, providing crucial fire support during major offensives. Following the Armistice, the unit returned to the United States and was demobilized in 1919. 1922–1939 (Interwar Period) After World War I, the 152nd Field Artillery Regiment was reorganized and federally recognized as part of the Maine National Guard. Throughout the interwar years, the regiment maintained its readiness through regular training and annual maneuvers, remaining an integral part of the 43rd Division. 1940–1947 (World War II) The regiment was inducted into federal service in February 1941 as part of the prewar mobilization. During World War II, the 152nd Field Artillery was reorganized and redesignated as the 152nd Field Artillery Battalion, continuing its service with the 43rd Infantry Division. The battalion deployed to the Pacific Theater, participating in campaigns in the Solomon Islands, New Guinea, and Luzon. The unit provided artillery support in several key operations, contributing to the success of Allied forces in the region. After the war, the battalion was inactivated in Japan in October 1945.
