Unit History

The 160th Field Artillery Regiment was constituted in the Oklahoma National Guard on 14 October 1921 as the 160th Field Artillery and assigned to the 45th Division. It was organized and federally recognized on 14 October 1921 with headquarters at Tulsa, Oklahoma. The regiment was inducted into federal service on 16 September 1940 at home stations. During World War II, the 160th Field Artillery served with distinction in several campaigns, including Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Anzio, Rome-Arno, Southern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe. After the war, the regiment was inactivated on 22 November 1945 at Camp Bowie, Texas. It was reorganized and federally recognized again on 10 September 1946 with headquarters at Tulsa.
