Following the Civil War, the 10th Infantry Regiment served in the Indian Wars, the Spanish-American War, the Philippine Insurrection, and both World Wars. During World War II, the regiment was assigned to the 5th Infantry Division and saw action in the European Theater, including the Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe campaigns.
