Unit History

The 322nd Cavalry Regiment was constituted in the National Army on 18 May 1917 and organized on 30 August 1917 at Camp Stanley, Texas. The regiment was assigned to the 65th Cavalry Division and served as a reserve unit during World War I. Following the end of the war, the regiment was demobilized on 18 February 1919 at Camp Stanley, Texas. It was reconstituted in the Organized Reserve on 15 October 1921 and assigned to the Seventh Corps Area. The regiment was headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, with elements in various locations throughout the region.
