Unit History

The 30th Infantry Regiment was constituted on 2 February 1901 in the Regular Army and organized on 12 February 1901 at Fort Logan, Colorado. The regiment participated in the Philippine Insurrection shortly after its formation. During World War I, the 30th Infantry Regiment was assigned to the 3rd Division and took part in major campaigns including Aisne, Champagne-Marne, Aisne-Marne, St. Mihiel, Meuse-Argonne, and Champagne 1918. In World War II, the regiment fought in the North African and European Theaters, participating in campaigns such as Tunisia, Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Anzio, Rome-Arno, Southern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe. After World War II, the regiment served in occupation duties in Germany and later participated in the Korean War, where it was involved in several campaigns.
