The 4th Coast Artillery Regiment was constituted on 27 February 1924 in the Regular Army and organized on 1 July 1924 at Fort Amador, Canal Zone. Throughout its service, the 4th Coast Artillery Regiment was responsible for manning coastal artillery batteries and providing harbor defense against potential naval threats.
