Unit History
The 329th Field Artillery Regiment was constituted on 5 August 1917 in the National Army as the 329th Field Artillery and assigned to the 85th Division. It was organized on 30 August 1917 at Camp Custer, Michigan. The regiment served in France during World War I as part of the American Expeditionary Forces. After the war, the unit was demobilized on 21 April 1919 at Camp Custer, Michigan. The regiment was reconstituted on 24 June 1921 in the Organized Reserves and assigned again to the 85th Division. It was reorganized in December 1921 at Detroit, Michigan. The 329th Field Artillery underwent several reorganizations and redesignations throughout its history, reflecting changes in Army structure and mission requirements.
