Unit History

The 11th Field Artillery Regiment was constituted on 1 July 1916 in the Regular Army and organized on 1 June 1917 at Douglas, Arizona. The regiment was assigned to the 6th Division in November 1917 and participated in World War I, taking part in the Meuse-Argonne and Alsace campaigns. After the war, the regiment underwent several reassignments and reorganizations, including service with the Hawaiian Division and later the 24th Infantry Division. During World War II, the 11th Field Artillery Regiment, as part of the 24th Infantry Division, participated in campaigns in New Guinea, Leyte, and Luzon. The regiment has continued to serve in various forms, with elements participating in the Korean War and subsequent conflicts, maintaining a legacy of distinguished service in the United States Army.
