Unit History

The 11th Ammunition Train was a unit of the United States Army organized during World War I. Ammunition trains were logistical units responsible for the transportation and supply of ammunition to front-line troops. The 11th Ammunition Train was assigned to the 11th Division, which was organized at Camp Meade, Maryland, in August 1918. The division, including its ammunition train, was preparing for deployment to France when the Armistice was signed on November 11, 1918. As a result, the division and its subordinate units, including the 11th Ammunition Train, did not see combat and were demobilized shortly after the end of the war. Sources: Wikipedia.
